Summary

In order to set up a Radar Chart you will need:

  1. Create a report with chart display
    1. Select a field to use as the Label
    2. Select field(s) to use as the Series
  2. Create your chart, selecting Special Purpose as the type, and Radar as the chart
  3. Provide the Label and Series options and Refresh
  4. Customise the Chart as required
  5. Close the Chart Builder
  6. Save your report

Tutorial

1. Click on the Create link and select Report to begin building your report.

2. You should now be on the Initialise Report page. Select the Drag and Drop Builder as the build tool.

3. Select Ski Team as the View.

5. You should now be on the Step 1. Report Data page. To start with, set the Output Options to Chart Only by selecting it in the Report Options section on the right. This will ensure that the information appears as a chart.

6. Drag and drop the Unable to render embedded object: File (rpt_dim.png) not found. Camp Demographic dimension, Unable to render embedded object: File (rpt_metric.png) not found. Profit Margin, Unable to render embedded object: File (rpt_metric.png) not found. Invoiced (Pref Currency) metrics into the Column Fields.

7. Change the aggregations on both of the metrics to Unable to render embedded object: File (avg.png) not found. Average, using the same steps as before, selecting Average rather than Count.

8. Click on Unable to render embedded object: File (step_right_on.png) not found. at the top of the page to move to the next step.

9. On the Report Preview page click on the Pie Chart image as before.

10. Click on the Chart Menu and select Special Purpose as the Chart Type and Radar as the subtype (click on the picture in the middle).

11. Click Save to load the options for a Radar Chart.

12. Set the Label to Camp Demographic.

13. Select Avg Profit Margin and Avg Invoiced (Pref Currency) as the Series.

14. Click Refresh to generate your chart.

15. You should now have a chart that looks like this.

16. Click on the Gridlines Menu and set the Show Gridlines option to Yes.

17. Click Save.

18. Click on the Labels Menu and set the Labels option to Yes.

19. Click Save.

20. You should now have a chart that looks like the one pictured here. Each line should have a label corresponding to a Camp Demographic, and the gridlines should now be visible.

21. You are now finished with this chart so Save and Activate it.

22. Click on the Close button to go back to the Report Preview page.

23. Click on the Save Menu and use Radar Chart Tutorial as the Name.

24. Type This Radar Chart was created using the Charts Tutorial as the Description.

25. Enter Tutorial as the Category and Charts as the Sub Category.

26. Click Activate.
