Can be used with categorical, sequential or time-series data. Bubble size and location combine to effectively display 3-D data on a 2-D chart.

|X Axis|Select the metric or date to use as the x axis measurement.|

|Size|Select a metric to set the size of each bubble.|
|Colour|Optional: You can select one field to split your values by colour.|

The Bubble Chart can be used with categorical, sequential or time-series data. Bubble size and location combine to effectively display 3-D data on a 2-D chart. Data can also be displayed in quadrants, allowing for negative X and Y values.

*1.* Click on the *Create* link and select *Report* to begin building your report.

*2.* You should now be on the Initialise Report page. Select the *Drag and Drop Builder* as the build tool.

*3.* Select *Ski Team* as the View.
*4.* Now click the !step_right_on.png! button to proceed.

*5.* On the *Step 1. Report Data* page set the Output Options to *Chart Only* by selecting it in the *Report Options* section on the right. This will ensure that the information appears as a chart.

*6.* On the Report Data page, drag and drop the !rpt_dim.png! *Camp Demographic* dimension, and the !rpt_metric.png! *Cost of Camp*, !rpt_metric.png! *Profit Margin*, and !rpt_metric.png! *Invoiced Amount* metrics into the Column Fields area.
*7.* You will need to remove the aggregations from all of the metrics. To do this select each one individually and click on the !clear.png! Clear button.
*8.* Click on !step_right_on.png! at the top of the page to move to the next step.

*9.* You should now see the Pie Chart image (pictured here). Click on the image to go to the Chart Format page where you can setup your chart.

*10.* Click on the *Chart* Menu, select *Statistical* as the Chart Type and click on the picture of the *Bubble* Chart to select it.
*11.* Click *Save*, this will load the options for a Bubble Chart.

*12.* In the *Chart Data* section you will need to select the data for each setting in the chart.
*13.* Set the X Axis to *Sum Cost of Camp*, the Y Axis to *Sum Invoiced Amount*, the Size to *Profit Margin*, and the Colour to *Camp Demographic*.
*14.* Click the *Refresh* link to generate your chart.

*15.* You should now have a chart that looks like the one pictured.
*16.* You now need to *Save* and *Activate* your chart. Click on the *Close* button to go back to the Report Preview page.

*17.* Click on the *Save* Menu and use *Bubble Chart Tutorial* as the Name.
*18.* Type *This Bubble Chart was created using the Charts Tutorial* as the Description.
*19.* Enter *Tutorial* as the Category and *Charts* as the Sub Category.
*20.* Click *Activate*.
