Plots the intensity of a metric across multiple categories.

|Column|You may select up to two different fields to use as columns in your trellis.|
|Row|You may select up to two different fields to use as rows in your trellis chart.|
|Colour|You can select one field to split your values by colour.|
|Size|When you have a scatter plot trellis you will also be able to select a metric to use for the size of the bubbles.|

In order to set up a Heat Grid Chart you will need:
# Create a report with chart display
## Select field(s) to use as the *Row*
## Select field(s) to use as the *Column*
## Select a field to use as the *Colour* (optional field)
## Select a field to use as the *Size* (optional field)
# Create your chart, selecting *Analytical* as the type, and *Heat Grid* as the chart
# Provide the *Row*, *Column*, *Colour*, and *Size* options and *Refresh*
# Customise the Chart as required
# *Close* the Chart Builder
# *Save* your report

*1.* Click on the *Create* link and select *Report* to begin building your report.

*2.* You should now be on the Initialise Report page. Select the *Drag and Drop Builder* as the build tool.

*3.* Select *Ski Team* as the View.

*5.* Make sure that you select the *Chart Only* option as you have for the other charts & click on !step_right_on.png! at the top of the page.

*6.* On the Report Data page, drag and drop the !rpt_dim.png! *Age Group at Camp*, !rpt_dim.png! *Gender*, !rpt_metric.png! *Invoiced Amount*, and !rpt_dim.png! *Athlete ID* fields into the *Column Fields*.
*7.* You will need to apply the !countdistinct.png! *Count Distinct* aggregation to the *Athlete ID* field.
*8.* Make sure that you select the *Chart Only* option as you have for the other charts.
*9.* Click on !step_right_on.png! at the top of the page.

*10.* On the Report Preview page click on the Pie Chart image as before.
*11.* Click on the *Chart* Menu and select *Analytical* as the Chart Type and *Heat Grid* as the subtype (click on the picture on the right).
*12.* Click *Save* to load the options for a *Heat Grid Chart*.

*13.* Set the Column to *Age Group at Camp*.
*14.* Select Row to *Gender*.
*15.* Set the Colour to *Count Distinct Athlete ID*.
*16.* Set the Size to *Sum Invoiced Amount*.

*18.* You should now have a chart that looks like this. You now need to *Save* and *Activate* your chart.

*19.* Click on the *Close* button to go back to the Report Preview page.
*20.* Click on the *Save* Menu and use *Heat Grid Tutorial* as the Name.
*21.* Type *This Heat Grid Chart was created using the Charts Tutorial* as the Description.
*22.* Enter *Tutorial* as the Category and *Charts* as the Sub Category.
*23.* Click *Activate*.
